This was a particularly challenging case. After many years of wearing upper and lower full dentures, the patient started to experience a very loose lower denture. An implant retained denture was the option of choice here. What made this case difficult was the little amount of bone remaining and the unfavourable profile on the right hand side which had occurred due to wearing an ill fitting denture for many years. By careful bone grafting and removal of the protruding nodules of bone, we created a favourable ridge for the denture to sit on, supported by two implants. The patient can chew very well now.
